Foodtogether Palmy
The Community Grocer is a social enterprise lead by Foodtogether in partnership with local community organisations with the aim that everyone can access good healthy food at an affordable price.
As a community enterprise and not a corporate retailer we are using existing community resources to pack grocery orders and deliver these through convenient pickup locations.
All surplus’ generated from grocery sales will be used to grow the reach of the Community Grocer and to provide funding for community partners to continue their good work.
In Palmy, Foodtogether is working with The Salvation Army and other local community groups to provide convenient pickup locations across Palmerston North. Our connection with the city started over 8 years ago when St Matthews Anglican Church saw a need and wanted to give the community access to market fresh fruit and vegetables. As a result the Awapuni Vege Hub was created and has been such a success and blessed so many people with their efforts.
As the need has grown and numbers have grown we now have a number of collection points around the city including: St Matthews Anglican Church, Te Patikitiki Community Library, Te Tihi Whānau Ora, The House Next Door and our City Mission offices at 338 Church Street in the CBD.
Orders must be placed by 12pm Tuesdays for collection on Thursdays from 12.30pm - 1.30pm.
Orders can be placed online here as a one-off or weekly order. Don’t forget to bring your bags!
